Low core, shader, and memory clock GTX 570

Thread Starter
I am not even overclocking right now, and my core clock and memory clock will not go up when I am playing a game. How do I make it go up to stock, because no matter what I put in Afterburner, it won't ramp up the clocks.

I want to disable the auto downclock on the GTX 570, or make it at least auto clock back up to normal levels when I am playing a game. How do I make it do that?

Where are you getting the info that the clocks aren't going up from? Afterburner? Are you noticing performance bad enough suggesting that this is true?
In the nVidia control panel, under "manage 3d settings" it says "Power management mode", change it from "Adaptive" to "Prefer Maximum performance".

Oh yes. It is very low performance.

I tried that, and it still doesn't work. The normal clock is 732, but the clock I see in MSI Afterburner is 405... Really really annoying, because I am trying to fold.

Did you try restarting after you changed power mgt modes? If not, you might give that a shot.

Did you try gaming after making this switch, or only folding?

And what games have you tried? WHat happens with benchies like heaven or 3dmark11?

I seem to recall others having issues w/downclocking to low-power 3d when folding (which I think is just a problem with certain drivers), but the power mode switch should fix the clocks issue while gaming. I'd also try completely un-installing afterburner (don't save settings) and then re-installing it.

PS: I never had Afterburner work with an EVGA card (though that was a few years back). I can't get it to work with my MSI card though either strangely enough.

Check with GPUZ.

Still there. I did a hard reboot and it is still there. Tried SCII, Crysis 2, Civ V, and the GPU still downclocks.

if you use anything newer than the 266.xx drivers you will have a downclocking bug
