12v adapter vs. 7v battery

I've got an Android tablet and a wall power adapter with output 12V, 1A. In two days it was out of order. I order another one (universal) and meanwhile using 12V, 300 mA. I understand that 300mA is just slow but not a problem; however, I Android Assistant displays the following about the battery: Voltage 7080 mV, Health Good. Does thus mean that I have to set the power adapter to 7.5V or still to 12V as the original adapter (may be it was wrong to start with)
Thanks for an explanation

Battery does not output the same voltage as it charges from.
