Planning on switching a sony vaio laptop hard drive with an SSD for the OS and main p

Thread Starter
Planning on switching a sony vaio laptop hard drive with an SSD for the OS and main programs, and use the hard drive for storage.

1. Im pretty sure any 2.5'' SSD should fit in the laptop, its normal sized. Not super thin or anything, 15.6'' screen I believe.

2. How can I clone the information from the HDD to the SSD? So I dont have to buy another windows 7.

3. Is it worth it? it will be used for an office build for speed is a neccessity and needs to load OS fast, and many programs opened at once.

So far I see a lot of different ways to do so on google, but nothing that gives me an exact answer.

1) I used an 80 GB Intel in my Vaio. The HDD in mine came out really easily and it wasn't a problem at all so any standard size 2.5" SSD should work.
2) I use Linux so I don't know about how to clone in Windows.
3) It is absolutely worth it. The best part for me is turning on my laptop and it being ready in a matter of tens of seconds, and shutting it down takes just a couple of seconds. Fast application launching time is a bonus as well.
