antec CP psu or ax850?

Thread Starter
looking at getting a p183 case.. and noticed they can take the CP-850 and CP-1000.

but i was pretty well stuck on a corsair ax850.
but the cp850 is only $145
and the cp1000 $165

were the corsair is $220.

is it worth getting over the cp1000? o.O

What kind of build would you be putting in a P183 that would take 1000W? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of the case? I'm not even sure if the airflow would be up to par for that kind of setup even with extra fans.

CP850 is enough to power SLI GTX 580 builds. Surely you won't be using more than that?

CP850 is a pretty decent value at 145 AUD. The AX850 is really not that much better.

But with CP850 to CP1000 you only get 72W more on +12V (nominally). That's not worth $20 more for pretty much the same unit except slightly more power you won't use, in my books.

It's not like they tweak the design to be $20 better.
