"Going Blue" - But which one.??

Thread Starter
Ok guys, ive had enough of AMD and how tempremental they are. I have been loyal to them for a long time but think its time for a change.

So im looking to keep the budget resonable, so i have got it down to 3 options. i7-960, i7-2600K or i5-2500K.

Your thoughts please.

Cheers Allen

2600K. You won't regret it.

2500K for Gaming or 2600K for Gaming and Encoding because of Hyper Threading but both will serve you well.

Depends on what you're doing, I'd go i5-2500k on a z68 board with PCIe 3.0 support but my main focus is gaming.

2500k cheapest and will overclock to 4.5ghz easily,
2600k games don't use 8 threads so if you do lots of video editing then is it worth the extra money?

if you're gaming get a 2500k and spend the money on upgrading something else

If you only game, then go for i5 and use the extra $100 on better GPU,mobo,PSU or even SSD.
If you mainly do video/image editing more than gaming, then go for i7.
