GTX 560 Direct Cu II 1 GB vs Radeon 6950 OC 1GB

Thread Starter
What's better:
Asus GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II 1GB DDR5 256-bit
or
Gigabyte Radeon HD6950 OC 1GB DDR5 256-bit

BTW: i have a 21.5 inch LCD monitor with a max resolution of 1920x1080

I would say 6950 1gb will perform slightly better than gtx 560 ti, but I highly recommend those Asus DirectCU II fans. They're very quiet and very cool.

Difference is negligible at those resolutions. Id get which is cheaper.

the two cards are pretty much neck and neck, at 1080p, the 6950 maybe just edges that battle by a couple of percent no more...and yeah, i'm talking about stock 560ti vs 6950 1gb

out of the box, the asus 560ti may be slightly faster due to higher factory overclock, but both should be able to push well into the high 900s if not 1ghz core.

the asus dcii cooler is amazing, if you want cool and quiet computing, i'd recommend it highly. the gigabyte cooler looks pretty beefy as well, so shouldn't worry too much about cooling, but not sure about noise though...also physx and cuda is a nice little addition on the asus card...

i've heard the 6950s scale better, so if you have multi card setup plans down the road, maybe the gigabyte will be the 'slight' better buy

OP did you try searching to see if others have started a similar thread? Because EVERYDAY someone asks this question or a slight variation of it and there are so many threads like this.

They're very similar in performance, it's a matter of preference, one will be slightly better in one game but the other will be better in another. pick which ever you like or which ever has the better cooler or which ever is cheaper.
