HD6950 crossfire question? - Page 2

This also depends on the FPS you are trying to achieve in games. Are you satisfied with 30 fps, do you want 60 fps or more? I game at 1920x1080p on a 47" LG LCD TV 1080p 120hz. In a lot of the games I like, I would have to lower the resolution or eye candy to be able to reach my desired 60 FPS. If the game runs lower than 60 FPS, it becomes very noticable to me and very annoying to the point that it destracts me and makes the game less enjoyable.

Honestly, for me, I couldn't see running anything less than CFX or SLI. I agree with other posts that you should upgrade your monitor. There are some amazing deals going on right now with LCD tv's. Maybe, check one of your local pawn shops for a great bargain on an LCD TV or HD monitor. I got mine off hock for $424 a year and a half ago but then again I'm "de boss" xD!

So does everybody else think I should exchange my HD6950 and get an nVidia GTX560/GTX570 since I just plan to game and surf the net? I want as little problems with drivers as possible.

The 6950s in CFX will destroy the 560/570 in SLi.

You don't need that much power for your resolution but you can effectively game at 2560x1600 or 5760x1080 with 6950s.

ok thanks MinitroN I'll probably get another HD6950 in a few months but I will get a new monitor today probably a 24" that's already been suggested so I can get the best out of my new rig.

I should add I might also upgrade to a multi display setup at some point. Probably a 3 screen display.
