Oh dear.. See I thought it might have been one of those PSUs with semi-passive cooling. I read that someone had issues with his PSU making a ticking noise every so often. In the end he figured out that it was the fan going on and off (in and out of passive mode) depending on the load applied to the PSU. I'm sorry that won't be of much help for you.
I'm glad you mentioned the noise issue though, because I was considering getting a strider gold in the past but then I saw Corsair's 7 yr warranty + black modular cables and my choice was pretty much made..

Now is time to share some ideas about the next mod with you. Side panel modding time!!

Here is a couple of ideas i've drawn up using "gimp" and photo of my actual system.
Idea 1:

Idea 2:

What do you guys think? Any suggestions and ideas are more than welcome

I like the second design, obviously the first would be more functional but the second just looks better IMO.

As for when using the primer be careful, it comes out a lot faster than paint and starts building up on the edges of the fan blade if too much is used.
So can I do the painting beside a window? Which kind of paint do you recommend and how do I prevent the primer from building up on the edges?

I don't think the white rims as in Firestrm's post would work with the white grill you've got already, but I prefer window 1, unless you're sure the PSU change will help with the cable management..

Idea 1 keeps the fan and covers the bad cable management but Idea 2 looks better in general..

What do you mean about painting beside a window? I must've missed something.
The paint you use must be compatible with the primer, that's all there is to it I believe. When using the primer, try to apply a few light coats instead of 2 big ones, also spray about 20-25cm away from what you're painting.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you need to know anything else.

I'm pretty sure the PSU change will do wonders for the cable management. I will also look at getting some sleeving for the remaining non black cables.
The thing is I don't think I'll be using that fan on the side panel, don't think I'll ever need to.

As for the side panel, I'm just seeking ideas as to what shape I can make the window.

I meant in a balcony or beside its window, is that a well ventilated area suitable for painting?

Ah I see, well I suppose the balcony will be your best bet. However be careful not to do it aroud precious objects since it's very easy to get paint on them.
