A Radeon 9200 SE is a slower Radeon 9200, which itself is a slower Radeon 9000, which itself is a slower DirectX 8 Radeon 8500, or something like that. In other words, it's somewhat ATi's equivelanet of the GeForce 4 MX440 (I actually think the GeForce 4 MX440 was better, which says alot), so no, avoid it.

He/She is right I take back what I said the SE is worse :S, will it run HL2 maybe but if its no better then a G4 MX440 then I wouldn't wanna use it.

That 8800gt is overkill. lol.

For that game, I'd be looking at around a Radeon 9500 or better on ATi's end (the Radeon 9600 is actually slower than the Radeon 9500, but it'd be okay too), or a GeForce FX 5700 (non-LE) or better on nVidia's end. More ideally, a Radeon 9700/9800 or GeForce 6600 of some flavor (again, sans SE and LE versions) should be good.

Edit: Another thing to consider is the resolution. You're using 1440x900 going on that screenshot. Alot of what I'm going on is taken from how I seem to remember the cards handling the game back then, back when 1024x768 was more the norm. They've also updated the engine too, and I'm not sure how that's impacted things.

back in the day I had a x1600 512 AGP and it was ok, if you can find one they would just run it, but when you get into 9xxx series of cards they dont even fully support direct x 9... I would keep looking for a better deal.

maybe call local pc shops and see if they have any used/ unwanted agp cards they could part with too.
