Case modding, level 2 (breaking my soul)

Hello peoples.

Today I wanted to take my modding to the next level (see modding level 1). So I tried to modd my case and rip from it just the pieces I need so I can put them on a extruded polystyrene so I can have a nice view of my parts (something like bench table case).

Okay I'll show you what I did. First I removed my parts from the case. This is what I wanted it to look like at the finnish (but over the aluminium case parts).

So with a lot of efforts I ripped out the parts of the case.

There lays the another part of the case.

And whith a silicone pistol

I was going to glue the *almost* broken parts of my /raep/-ed case

like this:

(bad idea though, silicone doesn't work very well with metal/aluminium).

Here I removed this piece as I believe it gets a better airflow.

As the fan 80cm and the opening was for a 10cm, I had to glue it with the pistol, results:

and here you can see the glue...

Then I got out the rest of the pieces I was going to need from my case, and put up my hard drives in it.

And the final desirable result was this:

In a resume I can tell you I was like 40 mins trying to put up parts in the best way everything could fit into the polystyrene, without success... Sorry I can't deliver pics, as I was very busy trying to figure out how to do what I wanted to do.

So as I said, after almost an hour on this pathetic try on a pc case modding, I ended throwing my pc case out of the window of my apartment and then I ended up putting my stuff like this:

and

and

and

Woah I like it a lot more like this.

Everything went better than expected

Dude... that glue is not going to hold up long term. Try rivets, or self tapping screws. Rivets look better IMO.

My heart goes out to that poor case LOL.
