Triple Channel to Dual Channel - Will it work?

Hey guys. I'm in the midst of planning a new HTPC build based around an intel i3-2100 and the following motherboard.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157238

I have three 2GB sticks of OCZ ddr1600 in my x58 desktop and I wondering if I upgrade to three 4GB sticks (12GB total), can I use two out of three of my old 2gb sticks and run them in dual channel instead of triple channel in the mini ITX 1155 motherboard for my HTPC?

Yes, that will work fine.

It'll be ok aslong u run em in dual channel mode.
Time ago i bought by mistake 3gb of corsair dominator ddr3 tri channel for an AMD3 board, and it was ok while they were running dual channel, if not i had to run single module or it was unstable, bsod'ed right after boot.
