LLC giving me a massive headache

So after spending about 2 weeks fiddling with my OC (on and off) i almost has the offset stable with the energy savings on, after manually setting vrm frequencies and powerphases i was so close to being prime95 stable with an ultra high LLC (i even entered sandy bridge stable club at 14hours)

last night i ran prime again, and failed at about 10 hours, so i assumed i got 14 hours stable just by luck, but my real question is:

i can get this thing perfectly stable using no LLC and a larger offset, but obviously the load vcore and idle vcore have a bigger delta

so do i go: ultra high LLC, with a load vcore of 1.344v (too high, but the offset isnt stable with anything lower) and maximum "idle peak" ~ 1.356v (i'll be using power savings, so it's only at "idle peak" for a split second)

or no LLC, load vcore of 1.312v, jumps up to 1.368 max for a split second, but with power savings idle's at 1.0v (this is perfectly stable, and gives lower temps)

would you sacrafice 0.012 in the "idle spike" for 0.03 lower under load (and being completely stable)

the system would be stable with a 0 offset along with power savings (coincidence?) but i can only set 0.05 + or -, not 0, so i'd be overvolting it even more if i went 0.05 and ultra high....

i could try a smaller LLC setting whilst lowering the offset to say +0.10, instead of 0.30 as it is now, this would stop the negative offset (and unstability) but allow me to bring that peak voltage down

I was in your exact same position and I solved it by setting LLC to 50% (medium). Best of both worlds May be worth a shot if you haven't tried it.

I think you have a VRise problem.

Well, the GD65 (my board) has a MASSIVE VRise problem too. I have learned to use this to my advantage though. Say the CPU needs 1.4V for 4.5GHz (just an example). I would set the voltage to 1.35 and turn C1E and EIST on. That way, at idle, it would clock to 1600MHz and be fine with 1.35v, but when it was under load the VRise would kick in and it would clock to 4.5GHz.

trying this as we speak, peaking at 1.352v now, and loading at 1.320v, this is using the smallest positive offset, time to let prime on the loose

my board doesn't rise the voltage up above idle volts, only if LLC is set to extreme, the problem i have is that the only way to get the voltage to downvolt at idle is to use offset, medium LLC with a small postive offset seems to give best of both worlds as nezzarix said, i definitly have enough vcore because i'm above what IBT needs for 50 runs, it's just the negative offset gives primeblend problems because the voltage is always underneath what it should be,

with a medium LLC i can let the voltage drop on its own under load, yet still maintain quite a low voltage spike and keep vcore load as close to what it would be with manual voltage...

hope that made sense

just proves vDroop is useful after all
