How good is/was FO:NV?

Thread Starter
Steam has New vegas on sale for 9.99 and each DLC for 4.99. I really enjoyed FO3 and cant see where I can go wrong with NV at this price. How was it? Should I get all the DLC or were any of them just awful?

I liked it more than FO3. [...except for the bugs at launch and at the launch of each DLC].

To me, if FO3 was Oblivion with guns, then NV is Morrowind with guns in that the world was a bit more interactive and the factions gave a deeper sense of detail.

A lot of people didn't like it, and I have to say that there were a lot of aspects of the game that I wish they had implemented differently. However that being said it is still quite a very fun game to play, although don't expect a game that warrants multiple playthroughs by any means.

This is quite a good comparison.

Although I must say that I really didn't like the way faction reputation system worked in NV. Too many times I found myself dropping a fart in the wrong direction and causing myself to become hostile with factions I hadn't even met yet...

It really seems to be a love-or-hate kind of game.

I'm willing to retry it, but only after all of the NV DLC is out, so that way it'll be organized under one name.

I debated getting the game also and also took the plunge and bought it and all the DLCs for $25 which isn't to bad for that game
