Besides, if you have Cheat Engine, why does the nerf even bother you? You can get instant legendaries through the slots, or turn on God Mode and infinite ammo with no recoil or reload to farm bosses for shield/head drops. Or download a save file that has all the heads/skins and unlock them all to your account.
Again, I think nerfing the Bee was a pointless move, but the people losing their minds on Twitter about it are incredibly stupid.
Also, really? Not buying anything else from Gearbox over what someone has said on their Twitter (regardless of it being the Pres of GB)? Guess I'll enjoy Colonial Marines, and BL3 then while you boycott them for the guy responding to crazy, over-the-line threats and anger with calm, concise anger (strange that that can exist).

im with marafice. i dont think you are seeing the entire picture. its the game developers decision. honestly its not like they did it with the intention of upsetting people. there are 3 DLC's left to release which means plenty of room to add something overpowered back in. but if anything the game is more fun when its not mega easy

Can't wait for that game to drop. BL2 is the only game I've played from them but, they got co-op down to a "T."

Wow really? They've done a good chunk of games, nearly all of which were good (DNF aside lol)

Half-Life: Opposing Force (awesome)
Half-Life: Blue Shift (decent/good)
The Half-Life ports to both the Dreamcast and PS2 (both good ports)
They also did big chunks of work on the retail release of the original CS and CS Codintion Zero
The Brother in Arms series (great games)
Borderlands series (obviously awesome games lol)
Duke Nukem Forever (pretty bleh)

And now Aliens, cannot wait, but their track record for games is awesome, except for DNF of course but that I mostly blame on the length of the wait and the crazy hype around the game by the time they got their hands on it.

No doubt I'm getting Colonial Marines though. From what I've seen so far it looks pretty derned good.

Waiting on another Steam sale to grab some nice games. Especially gonna be looking for BL1 there.

Yeah, it's routinely $7.49 for the GOTY on Steam sales

My main issue is I should not have a product I paid for changed without my approval. What gives Randy the right to change something I paid for? I know you can go on about how it's not mine and I paid for a license and the creator can do whatever they want with it and I don't get a say but that's just lame. I'm honestly to the point where I think I'm just fed up with Steam in general. It used to be you bought a game, it was yours, you did what you wanted with it, and you CHOSE if you wanted to install the patches or not. If the patch makes the game less fun, why would I choose to install that? With Steam the choice just evaporates.

And if there's anything that galls me more, it's having choice taken away. And obviously I see no reason to send more of my money to a company that doesn't value my ability to choose how I play their games, so I choose not to give them any more of my money. Simple as that.

Just a corollary, how would any of you like it if the manufacturer of your vehicle swooped in and swapped your 500HP engine for a 90HP engine and nerfed your car? Ridiculous example? Yes, but it gets the point across. Same thing with Diablo 3. Neferd to oblivion, no point in playing it further or buying any upcoming Blizzard games. I won't support developers that make ill-advised choices and take the fun out of fun.

So tell Steam not to keep the game up to date? But good luck playing the game online with other folks then. You say it's lame that you don't 'technically' own it, but it's been that way for a while with software, it's unfortunately the way things are going. And clearly you ARE choosing how to play it, you stated yourself you use Cheat Engine, so The Bee getting nerfed shouldn't even be an issue, especially with what you can do with that program.

As for the car analogy, sorry but that is an invalid arguement, as unlike a piece of software, you ACTUALLY own your car, (unless leasing it ofcourse, then you're just renting it from the dealership. And as for the D3 analogy, can't use that either, as with nearly EVERY Blizz game, players should have seen it coming, Blizz has a GIGANTIC, VISIBLE history of nerfing everything into oblivion, youu bought it knowing full well it could, and would, happen.

If something like this frustrates you this much, you should seriously consider giving up gaming all together, and I'm not joking. EVERY company does this (especially since this is pretty much an exploit.) to balance out the game and not make it ridiculous easy. And in all honesty, The Bee ISN'T that great of a shield unless you NEVER get hit and if you NEVER get hit, you're already exploiting the game and can easily make use of other shields that don't artificially inflate your damage. There are much better overall shields to use. and besides, by your feelings, the 200+ hours I've played and thoroughly enjoyed in the game WITHOUT the Bee are totally invalidated simply because they nerfed a shield.

I must admit, Randy's comment on "Need more reasoned voices to educate the e-terrorists" talking about people that dupe REALLY pissed me off too. How dare he insult me for enjoying the game I purchased?

"No no no, you're having fun wrong. Here, THIS is how you have fun. Only do it this way from now on, ok?" I'm sorry, but I spent literally 5 hours grinding to get the Infinity pistol from Doc Mercy, and never saw even 1 useful thing drop. Literally it was 5 hours completely and utterly down the toilet. I would have been better off flipping a coin for 5 hours.

After giving up, and almost giving up on Borderlands in general (since end-game material is going to more or less require I have these ultra-rare items requiring 10 hours of grinding each), I joined a public match where some guy dropped all of his legendary gear for me to pick up, and immediately left. Sweet!

Now here comes Randy calling me an e-terrorist because I once again am enjoying the game rather than growling at my monitor in frustration as Doc Mercy doesn't drop the Infinity pistol for the 986th time. Update the game all you want Randy, but don't insult the people who enjoy your game, and through purchasing it, are essentially paying your bills.

I'm going to think twice about supporting that jackass again too.

Why does everyone use this argument? No one forced you to grind for hours, did they? You willingly CHOSE to grind something with a low drop rate, you have no valid complaint there.

I'm 100% with DrBrogbo. For everyone else who wants to defend the labcoats that make you press the lever even more times now to get that sweet sweet dopamine rush, have fun in your Skinner box where you have no choice but to accept what your masters decide for you. Because clearly they are the only ones who know how you should have fun.

I'll stick to developers that are mod friendly, positive towards their paying customer base, and let players do whatever the heck they want with their properties.

Anyway, I'm pretty much done in this thread, so menh. Unless Randy et al do a huge turnaround, quit punishing players, and actually give some true choice and fun, I've got nothing left for Borderlands.
