Well first build is better if you don't have the required gear for the 2nd one. It is meant more as a "One for All" build since very few things actually resist shock damage. It may not do more, but it will still give you the most consistent damage output across the board IMO. The 2nd one is MUCH more powerful, but involves planning and micromanagement of what you want to swap out to depending on what enemies you will most likely run into. If you are getting into it with fleshies, then switch to fire. If you are fighting a lot of armored people, switch to corrosive. If everyone will have shields, use the electric build. The key is getting your anarchy stacks to around 100 and using Discord to keep it from getting to high. You can also maintain 100% discord uptime as the total damage is not THAT far apart between Discord buffs and Anarchy buffs until you hit over 100 stacks.

Glad you are enjoying the build! Just remember to not be afraid of using discord. You can always get stacks back after turning it off, but if you die, all your stacks go poof and it is back down to zero again. Also call out your robot whenever possible as long as there are enemies. Do not forget to do so, especially if you are using Hide of Terramorphous for your shield. With that build, your robot WILL deal way more damage than you until you hit about 70-80 stacks. biggrin.gif

Black Hole is great for keeping baddies up close and personal so you won't have no one to kill after getting downed usually. The downside is it really doesn't serve much use for your bot. His BH effect will either interfere with yours or do nothing for it after its first time effect. Hide dramatically increases its melee damage however, which is your robot's basic damage output and the fire spike effects are constant. Shields don't matter too much, but you would ideally like a tanky roid shield to benefit your robot. You won't be really doing any melee attacks yourself, but you will have a newfound appreciation for your robot's melee damage. You will do mad elemental regardless. Both are great shields however, just either for you or your robot. Think of it this way, my robot can kill most enemies by itself when called out provided they don't gang bang him immediately and every time he kills someone, he stays on the field longer with Upshot Robot. My robot can sometimes stay around for a few minutes before going away. biggrin.gif

hmm I guess i never really thought of it this way. Make more use out of robot instead of use for me. That is a good idea I will have to try it biggrin.gif I think it would be cool to make deathtrap go and do all the killing while you sit back and do almost nothing tongue.gif

Yup! Unlike turrets or solo characters, the Mechro's robot has a mind of its own and can benefit from your shields. Now in UVHM, your robot won't be able to kill everything in sight. Things are a lot stronger in UVHM and enough enemies (3-4) will destroy your robot in short order without assistance from you. 1v1, it will destroy most things though. biggrin.gif

I like using the Whisky Tango Foxtrot shield with my Mechromancer. The IED boosters do a good amount of shock damage (that I'm assuming is boosted by Gaige's shock-related skills?) and Deathtrap also drops the boosters thanks to Sharing is Caring. It's still possible to down yourself accidentally with this shield so try to get the Grounded variant if possible.

The W-T-F shield is a really nice one as well, same with Flame of the Firehawk which I believe has the highest nova damage output of any of the shields. With the W-T-F shield though, you really want to be using electrical skills which could potentially limit your mechro. Also, running up to the IED boosters can be dangerous sometimes since the shield launches itself towards enemies. They do make great Rat bait though! Flame of the Firehawk is a great shield as well. For the 2 particular builds I posted, using this shield does require some tweaking however, unless you want the nova bonus purely for the deathtrap.

Flame of the Firehawk would be of limited usefulness for my Mech build because of lightning-fast recharge time, but I've played with it as Krieg and it is a very cool shield indeed, been swapping between it and the Love Thumper.
