With my sig rig and PhysX on medium I'm still dropping to 20fps at times.

A 670 alone would run the game maxed with PhysX on high with minimal dips. a 560Ti dedicated to PhysX would just be icing on the cake.

The 560ti has been a good card, so has the 6950 but both are 1GB models, I'd like to get a 2GB anyway. Anyone know what brands are offering a lifetime warranty? I could have swore my Zotac 560ti had a lifetime warranty when I bought it but now it's showing like 2 years.

This is straight at Nvidias webpage:
At a bare minimum, a GeForce 8800 Series graphics card is required to enable PhysX, but realistically players will require a more recent card, such as the GTX 460. To attain the highest level of fidelity, however, Borderlands 2 players will require a GeForce GTX 660 or higher. Our performance chart below, generated using the game’s built-in benchmark, provides a general overview of how the game will perform with PhysX High enabled on a range of GPUs

http://www.geforce.co.uk/whats-new/articles/borderlands-2-physx/
So I'm just curious it's that true what other users says that their fps doesn't never go under 60. (I mean those who have GTX670 or GTX 680 and PhysiX at high). According what Nvidia says that's seems to be true, but I'm getting those dips near to 40fps and i have read that I'm not alone with this. Maybe gtx670 or gtx 680 just isn't powerful enough to run this game at Max settings at constant 60fps.

Have you tried updating your drivers? I'm running a GTX670 with this game maxed out and Physx on High and I almost never go below 90FPS at 1920x1080.

Love this game to death! Too bad i didnt get it on PC because my friends cant run it. frown.gif Still an amazing game though.

I'm not sure why you're complaining about this generation of GPUs not being able to max something out, that is never a guarantee. That's like saying it's both Nvidia and AMDs fault that neither of them could max out Crysis with a single GPU when that game came out. It simply means if you want everything turned up, including PhysX, you're likely going to need two GPUs if you want to stay at 60 fps, although I do think an OC'd 680 might be able to manage it.
So which industry are you angry at? The hardware manufacturers trying to make the fastest hardware out there, or the software industry trying to make great games that can also look great? If a smooth experience is what you want, all the time, then you might look towards consoles, they're at least consistent, even if it is at 720p and 30 fps.

The reason for my frustration is this. If we forget the PhysX and just look the game without it. We can notice that it's made for dx9 engine and it doesn't really bring nothing amazing graphical improvement what the older cards couldn't handle. So my old overclocked GTX 570 could run this game at high settings all day long and laugh while doing that. Only reason for the new card is that you can enjoy the PhysX - effects and if you check in the Nvidia web pages they are telling that GTX 660 could run this game smoothly over 60fps if PhysX effects are set at high. Now consumers are buy new Nvidia cards so they can enjoy the game like it's meant to be, or at least they think that they can. For me this is really disappointing to see that GTX 670 cant handle the game and also very confusing because some other GTX6xx owners are saying that game runs over 60fps all the time. So, what is the truth? Is there some performance bugs in the Nvidia drivers which is holding my card back or what?

And yes, i have ps3 console (also i had xbox360), so i know what those can do and cant do.

I'm betting they haven't gotten to Thousand Cuts yet. On View Distance - Ultra and PhysX - High my 670 + 460 PhysX dipped to 30 FPS just looking out at the expanse of the level. Turning PhysX to Medium helped some, but dropping View Distance to High helped greatly.

Before Thousand Cuts I could safely say that a 670 + 460 PhysX would only rarely go sub 60 FPS. Not so much now. And using the 670 alone there were quite a few areas that would drop sub 60.

Also, the graphic on geforce.com is titled "A general indication of Borderlands 2 PhysX performance." Which I agree is correct, if misleading. I don't care about average frame rate, especially when I can go from 150 FPS in one level to sub 30 in another. My criteria for a card/game performing well is no sub 60 dips. I will gladly turn view distance down to achieve that, and I can't say as I've noticed any difference in how the game looks, so I'm not too chuffed at not having all the options maxed out.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents for whatever it's worth. Game is fun! biggrin.gif

Are you running 306.23? Friend at EOCF has a 660Ti he got in and said it's smooth as butter maxed, with no problems.

Lol take that video with a grain of salt if you run the physx on med or high on the cpu you get alot of physx stuff unlike what the video shows heck with atis new 12.9 betas and my cpu at 5ghz i avg 90fps max of 300 and low of 0 but the low is cause i loaded fraps after i had the game open.

I'm not sure about the performance differences between users, PCs are notorious for that kind of thing though. I'm one of the ones getting a solid 60fps through the entire game, I posted proof of this in the recent Borderlands 2 news thread.
