Can you look over my build please =) - Page 2

Okay, I vote GTX 560. xD

Good build though. Get a Aftermarket cooler. I recommend for a Cheap Watercooler, Corsair Hydro H50.

Good build, pretty damn well balanced.

Seriously, save the extra 10 bucks MAX and get 1600mhz RAM. I just hate to see slow RAM on a platform that craves memory bandwith, and I did some research on Australian sellers and the cost difference between 1333 and 1600 Gskill DDR3 CL9 RAM was THREE DOLLARS, four to upgrade to CL8 1600 DDR3. You can afford it, and you should get it.

Go with the 6950 later - the 2gb will become MUCH more advantageous in future games.

If you are talking the GTX 560 as opposed to the GTX 560ti, then there is NO comparison between the 6950 and the GTX 560. The 560ti will trade blows with the 6950 with the same amount of RAM, 1gb to 1gb, 2gb to 2gb, but if the 6950 unlocks then there's no comparison. Personally, I'm pretty sure the 6950 beats the 560ti on average anyways, but could be wrong.

Try and get the Samsung F3 too if you can, as stated above.

And also as stated above, an aftermarket cooler will be a good idea - the Xigmatek Gaia or CM Hyper212+ or any equivalent 120mm fan cooler will do, and they're usually really cheap.

These slight changes will come at minimal extra cost, if any at all, and sometimes it's worth waiting an extra week to get the components you SHOULD have from the outset. It's only my opinion, and I can understand thinking otherwise.

Regardless, it's a good build.

aftermarket cooler is a must have imo

so CM 212+ for budget cooler or Noctua D14 for non budget,

I agree that if you unlock the 6950 then it will be better then a 560ti, the 560 non ti is just like a 460.

Does anyone have any info on how much 1600MHz RAM will speed up a system?
The differences are reviewed here:

http://techreport.com/articles.x/20377

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mem...sandy-bridge/1

The benefit of 1600mhz RAM is faster responses in multitasking, a few fps here and there in gaming, and increased performance in memory bandwith hungry applications, not to mention the potential likelihood of being able to overclock it to 1866 which is the sweet spot for Sandy Bridge.

In some areas the differences are naught, in other areas more of a difference - it depends on the application.

Shadder unlock is pretty pointless, you get not even 2% real world performance. Dual bios is still useful for over-clocking though.

I dont know what stores your using to buy your parts though but I know you can get 1600 ram for the same price as 1333 ram, look around because 1600 is much better.

6950 shader unlock gives more than 2% increase in certain games:

As the suggestion shows, overclocking will prove much more effective though. Getting a good aftermarket cooling solution 6950 is probably more worthwhile than trying to get any kind of unlock.
