Thanx to you and to Turgin.

To the others: I'm really not sure why when it comes to upgrading my firewall, i need a good reason to please you. I want something new, to play with, to learn. Just like i did with Untangle.

to those still unsatisfied: Running untangle in virtual is great, but every time we lose power, the server comes on, but vmware doesn't automatically start untangle, so if i'm not home, my girl has no interwebs.

Unless you have extensive knowledge of Cisco IOS there is no way your going to be able to configure a Cisco firewall just saying it'd be a waste of your money.

Wrong. The Cisco ASDM is the delfactoid for ASA configuration.

So run Untangle (or any other router distro) on dedicated hardware with battery backup... or set up a start-up script to load up the virtual router.
Once again...
