Thoughts on Sidewinder x4 or x6? - Page 2

i bought an x6 about a year and a half ago and never looked back. I was specifically looking for a keyboard that didnt have ghosting on the arrow keys (I would be using those quite a lot in my game). The Razer Lycosa didn't work..or the Arctosa..I decided on the x6 instead. To be honest you get used to the fact it doesnt have back stands...and as a professional gamer, I tend to spend hours on end practising, I've never been uncomfortable or anything.
But, that's me. I find the best way to know which keyboard to get is to try it yourself. See if you can find a shop that sells them and try and get a go of a few keyboards.

I got the Sidewinder X4 last year for $29.95. It was an amazing value. The backlighting is very vivid. I've never experienced any ghosting. The keys are very shallow and responsive. The only drawback I can think of is the wrist rest thing is not detachable, which is fine with me because it's comfortable.

After all the research, I bought a Sidewinder X4 a few months ago. I made a very good choice and have no regrets.

I game, write coding, and it is perfect for both.

yeah me 2. I just received it today, and it pretty good. Feels great when i type on it. the only con that it has is that the G keys are a bit too close to the normal keys, so you might hit a G key instead of a normal key. The lighting is not bad, in the night, you can see the keys very well of course, but when theres light, like the sun, you wont see as well. In overall, its good. biggrin.gif id recommend it, since ive thought about buying the X6 too, but the keys are low profile, which means the keys are kind of slim like keyboard laptops, but a bit taller. The G110 has higher keys, which i like more. Hope i helped you ^^

Good keyboards are good keyboards no matter if low profile or not.

The logitech illuminated is a good keyboard and is low profile, the reclusa is a good keyboard and is full travel, the X6 is just crap, worst than most 5$ keyboard that come as first equipment on most PCs

Okay so the x6 idea has definitely been punted out the window.

Narrowed down to: X4 and G110

I'll be honest, I was looking at the G110 already, but I can't remember what threw me off about it. It could have been the simple fact that I don't plan on using macro keys and the extra length would just waste space.

So it seems the X4 is the keyboard of choice for me! One question though and I'm not sure if someone is in the scenario to answer it for me. Are you able to use the media keys as bind-able keys for winamp and use them while gaming without any interruptions?

Oh yea I hear you, I'm definitely not one to rank on a company because of failures. For example, I keep on going back to WD for harddrives even though my luck is terrible and I always get faulty ones. But when they're running properly, they're great! And they have great RMA service.

I think I'm getting the X4 though, it's just more cost effective and to be honest, I do use the numpad quite a bit and I wouldn't even use that feature. Also, keyboard stands are always a plus!

No need to exaggerate anything.

The X6 is likely the worst keyboard I've ever touched in 30 years.

Too bad the Dearmo GA9 cloned all of it but the backlight.
