$340 Gaming PC that can max 95% of games.

TOTAL: $342.92

Now, It's a GREAT starter PC. That is the BARE minimum you need for a gaming PC. You may have noticed that I didn't include a DVD drive, this is because you can install windows via a USB - OR - you can take one from another PC/Old PC in the house. Many services are going digital anyways so it's just a logical factor to save money.

For another $40, you can get a quad-core phenom which is fantastic, another $15 will get you a Hyper 212 Cooler to cool that sucker, but then the prices starts going up. Like I said it's bare minimum. Also, You could upgrade from 2GB of ram to 4GB for an extra $9 but I've gamed with 1GB for a month (3 sticks died) and I honestly would have never noticed the difference.

Tell me your opinions!

Disclaimer

AMD RAM - It's not bad, I believe it's manufactured by Kingston but feel free to correct me. I've used it in about 4 builds now and have not had any problems!

Case - I built 2 systems with it, it's actually pretty nice for $29!

PSU - Yes, that PSU can power the GPU... Probably 2 GPU's.

This is interesting for Canadian customers, but due to the lowly 2GB of memory AND in single channel... (the difference is more noticeable than you think - try my friend, whose one 2GB out of 2x2GB died... he claims that so far his experience has been terrible)
And no I wouldn't trust a VP450 on CrossfireX 5770s
Maybe a 500-550W setup

Its a great starter system. That correct, but I'm not sure about that above statement.

Nice build you have going on there! My recommendations.
Instead of the athlon ii x2, get a ii x3. ~$15 more and possibility of unlocking into a full fledged phenom. Also you can get a 5770 instead 6770, they're the same gpus, for a lower price.

BTW. I built my computer for ~$350. How? Scavenging CL and taking advantage of ACC

Depends on what resolution. 1440x900 and lower? Possibly, yea.

You can get a 4GB kit (dual channel / try channel) for $30 now, so It's not that bad - little bit more expensive.

And yes, maybe my presumption was a little short-sighted but this is all just to prove a point that you don't need to be a millionaire to PC game. I've cross-fired 2 5770's on a 500W with no problem (The PC only pulled 410w out of the wall) I used a meter to keep track of it, I believe that was when running a benchmark and Furmark (not at same time, averaged out)

Strange, I built 10 PC's with it last week and they all worked great.

You act as if it's a Biostar mobo!

To be honest you can do better:

4gb ddr3 Corsair 1600MHZ: $10.00 a/r (http://images.frys.com/art/facebook/...DAY_080611.jpg)
Recent deal: Athlon II x3 BE: $60
ATI 6770 1gb: $85 (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3123034)

If you wait for the good deals, you will do better for less. Those were just examples.

I don't deal with rebates. I've had SO many bad experiences with them and they just try and pray on people that see a flashy low number in my opinion. I'd say I get the money 30% of the time. One time I got it 2 years later.

And honestly, I'd rather pay the extra $20 or so than have to deal with all the paperwork, separate companies, waiting for mail, etc.
