Gateway NV75S03h AMD Quad A8-3500M/HD 6740G2 the BEST laptop in the price range

On another thread i started.......

http://www.overclock.net/laptops-netbooks/1084730-please-anwer-buying-lappy-today.html

Here is a little update. THIS LAPPY IS I THINK THE BEST BUY IN THE PRICE RANGE!!!!!!!!!

I am creating this thread just to let people know not to be afraid of this big specd LAPTOP ive been doing tonnes a of research and buying of laptops and returning them till i got the right one........I think allot of people are not valuing this little (har) lappy i think there is almost not a better deal......

HIGHLIGHTS....

-17 .3 inch LED screen
-750GB HDD
-8GB ram @ 1333mhz
-AMD Quad-core CPU A8-3500M |@ 1.5ghz max 2.4ghz
-AMD intergated HD 6620G GPU
-AMD Radeon HD 6740G2 1GB VRAM
-Blueray player
-1.3MP HD webcam
-Mouse pad pretty good, has a indent line for the scroll on right side, something i love rather than a pad with nothing.
-Keyboard and number pad
-Gaming

So i have installed these games

-BFBC2 @ around 30+fps going into 50s-60s DX10 close to mid settings
-SC2 @ around 30+fps again going into 50s-60s close to mid settings
-CSS @ " 60+fps upwards and onwards with highest fps...
-NFS @ 30+ some dips below
-NBA 2K11 around 40s-50s and up
-Crysis2 @ 30+fps on whatever the lowest setting and at 720p
-Blackops @ 30+

Keep in mind that the resolutions are diff, most are at 720p and some a 1600x900. Most AA was on but may be on low like 2x

All these games run very smooth, but keep in mind that you will have to tweak settings to get them to run good, i feel confident that it will run most games at 720p with tweaked settings

I though very highly on paper with this system, but the cpu speed is low, but dont let that fear u this runs great a gaming lappy.

I am also doing this because i havent seen to many or any good benches on this new TECH, so i wanted to add my two bits....

Also keep in mind that this is not a "HARDCORE" gaming system but i would say it is around the MID-HIGH gaming laptop @ $700 CDN i think this is a very good buy.......ive tried to find laptops in this category and i cant find anything with a better gpu at the price, but of course you can find one with a better CPU i5, i7s, but at this price range they will usually have a Intel HD3000 integrated which doesnt compare with this gpu, or a lower ATI/AMD card, which the i5s/i7s will help along but if on gpu intensive games i thinks this combo works perfectly.

Keep in mind that i think this system was built for kinda gaming, but if you want to encode i believe that the i5s/7s will most likely do better, how much i dont know, but im sure its not going to be too bad.....

Anyway i hope this helps anyone interested in this new platform from AMD.

BTW this is my first AMD platformed system and i have to say that i am not disappointed.

I just hope it will run BF3 when it comes out..........8)

Update!!!!!!! im not sure and i will have to do some research, but i just found in the amd settings for CF(yes crossfire lol) i thought that this system automatically made both cards go into crossfire........

BTW the fraps scores that ive given you before are all off i havent tested all games yet but with the ones i did test, there is about 10-20fps more with CROSSFIRE on........

Does anyone know what is what..... does it cf itself or do you have to turn it on, if you turn it on does that mean that it doesnt throttle down to gpu for batt life?????

One thing to mention yet the frames have gone up considerably there seems to be a bit of mircostuttering now and it can get bad at times.........and it also seems that the mins fps have for sure gone up......

Some games require crossfire profiles:

So how much is $700 CDN in real money? Cool laptop, seems like it you get some cool features (17" and Blu ray) and some good performance for that price.
