starcraft freezing for a bit then comming back on

basically for some reason starcraft has been freezing for a bit then as title says comes back on

i can hear people still in vent talking to me so im thinking its a vid card issue

i changed my drivers to 266.66 from the newest and problem still happens

it happens in other games i play like bloodline champions

basically the only hardware that is new is mobo/ram/psu but i dont know a way to tell what the problem is exactly

there has not been a bsod with this issue it seems i just have to wait till it comes back

my question would be can a bad mobo cause this sort of a problem? the reason i ask is because when i got my mobo i had issues where it wouldnt boot but the memok and cpu lights would go on, i swapped out the psu which everyone suggested was the problem and it booted again

there have been other paranoid things that might have caused the issue like getting a bit of tim on the underside of the cpu and im at a loss to what the issue is

update - a friend watching my stream tells me that he could see my mouse moving normally around the screen but keep in mind i couldnt use my computer during this freeze. its a freeze that happens in games but it seems to happen on my entire computer

This sounds like a heat issue. If its happening in multiple games while your computer is under a full load, that's probably the cause.

I would try cleaning out any dust in your case and check to see if all the fans are working. If the fans are not already set to their highest setting, try that as well.

And try to check your temps while playing SC2 before a freeze happens. A screenshot would be helpful.

Another potential problem could be your ram. Try removing one stick at a time and testing if it makes a difference. It's easy enough to test this and would be easy to fix.

If you're able to rule out ram and heat, it could be a more serious issue like a damaged gpu card... probably won't have anything to do with the mobo or PSU though because your computer doesn't shut down.
