Just curious, does your gpu droop down at all from all the weight? I have the heatkiller waterblock on a gtx560 and its so heavy that I need to support it with a bit of tubing otherwise my computer just crashes if I try to launch anything even slightly gpu demanding (idle its ok). Mine droops on the right side where there isn't much support from the case or the motherboard (the same side/corner as in the photo). Just interested to see if its my motherboard or if it is a common occurrence.

Looking spectacular! Love the green tubing

Believe it or not, what you are describing here is most likely the very same cause of your tanks leaking. Unless you cracked one of the panes of glass to cause the leak. If they leaked at the seam I would put money down to say it was caused by the mineral oil getting itself under the silicon seams.
Silicon has very similar properties to the polymers typically used in o-rings. Mineral oil would likely dissolve the silicons adhesiveness and slip right past it.
But again, if you cracked the glass then that's a different story.

It does sag a little bit. No more than a quarter inch over by the corner in the picture you showed. I'm thinking of some way to support it that doesn't involve being ugly.

The tanks were solid pieces of acrylic. There were no seams at any of the corners. My best guess would be cycles of heating and cooling fatiguing the corners where the acrylic appeared to have existing stresses from the bending of the material.

Well I've got a small update on my system. I recently got tired of my plain old boring desktop background. I picked up Rainmeter, got a couple skins for it, picked up a few other toys/utilities, and got to coding. I'm not some super code guru, so I just hacked together Rainmeter skins that I liked and modded them to have a consistent theme and good functionality. Now my desktop is this week's featured desktop on Lifehacker! Pretty freaking sweet!

Very nice and congrats on the recognition. I shall read the article later when I'm on my new system. I want to try rainmeter, but I iz afraid.

A few parts are on their way to make a fillport. Should make filling the system a billion times easier. Not 100% sure how I want it arranged, but I have a general idea of what I want. There ought to be plenty of room to accommodate, though. I'll probably make a drain port in a couple weeks as well so I don't need to disassemble anything. It'd be nice to only have to remove 2 plugs to drain/fill the system.

As it sits now, to drain, I have to pull the bottom hose off the radiator and catch the flow from both the rad and the tube. To fill, I have to take off the windowed panel and the front and top case fascias, then unscrew my res so I can slide it forward, then unscrew the fillport plug and screw in the tube & funnel. My goal is to only have to remove the windowed panel and top fascia to fill it up. Although if I can get it to be just the windowed panel, that's even better.

And this is why you use a plexi glass tank and not glass especially if its not protected against thermal expansion

The tank was acrylic.

Purchased some new parts to rework the cooling system. It's going to be very interesting, getting it to work. I don't have as much room as I thought I did because I was too short-sighted to take measurements before ordering parts. Pics to follow soon.

I'm currently working 12 hour shifts until further notice, so there's not much time for things that aren't either work or sleep. I'm able to shoehorn food in there only because I can sacrifice a little bit of sleep each night.

Plexiglass is a brand of acrylic (had to say it). Anyways, I just read through all 18 pages and I like what you did. Would love to talk sometime.
