What's this? An update already?
Today was a bit of an impromptu work day to help my brain recover from the sheer mind-boggling boredom that is my job. I wasn't happy with the way the motherboard & power supply had cleaned up (or not, for that matter). So I used extra Dawn in round 2 of cleaning, also I took off the case of the power supply so I could get in there with a toothbrush. Found out that Corsair uses 140mm Yate Loons in their HX-750 power supply, and I'd assume for other units in the HX line. So yea, picture time!
Pre-wash gathering of parts
You can see that the last cleaning did a crappy job of getting the oil off.
Another pre-wash shot
Everything is much cleaner, now.
I also mounted the water block on the video card. I hope I did it right. I used the thermal paste that came with it for the gpu processor, and I was having trouble getting a smooth and even coat on there, so I ended up putting a blob in the center and I hope that it spread it out enough. No pics of the thermal paste process, though. My hands had a good bit of thermal paste on them, and I didn't want it on my camera. So, yea, more pictures!
That's some really nice finish you got there.
The business end
You can really see the difference in finishes
All assembled and done!
Ok, I'm tired as hell. Going to bed.
