Well said, everyone has a slightly different opinion of the races based on their play style...as others have already said: just gotta go play each of them and decide for yourself. I myself am getting back into the SC2 scene after a temporary hiatus and I had also been trying to decide which race I really wanted to hunker down with and learn (for me it ended up Protoss...to me they're just more fun/interesting to play, but to each their own). gl hf

Yes I think what happens when you've played the game thoroughly, is that you understand how each race is meant to be used and their strengths and weaknesses in relation to their playstyle. For a long time in the beta, I would play zerg with the mentality of a protoss and be very frustrated because you can't just make a mix of units and do considerable damage.
Thus as you continue to improve and your game sense evolves, you'll start realizing which race fits your way of thinking and/or strategums. It therefore becomes hard to assess which race would be best for you just from a general summary of a races advantages. You really need to understand the early game and late game mechanics to make an informed decision.

I decided for now to go PROTOSS as a noob race or an easier race to start with. I've great expectations that in future patches there would be an scene like protoss=zerg=terrans but that should be very difficult to find in a soon future.

For now I've only very short experience playing SC2 I will go to the main tread and gather some info about the different strategies that are used by the races...

I'd go with Terran, because they're the most straightforward, and the names of the buildings and units actually make sense.

The game isnt' balanced yet... Terrran /zerg >>> Protoss. there's a reason why majority of the best players in the world (GSL code S league) are terran or zerg... Ghost EMp is too over powered against Protoss.
Not sure if serious O.o

break down of races in GLS August. 32 T 17 P and 15 Z in code S: 17 T 8 P and 7 Z

Zerg "micro" is more like split army send speed lings one way to flank A-move.

Mutas have some nice micro and burrowed roaches and infesters kind of require micro i suppose BL's require good positioning and moving back and forth a fair bit but I'd hardly call zerg micro intensive.

Thats said at the highest level T seems pretty unbeatable right now. give it a month and P players will stop playing like greedy idiots and start coming up with some more interesting and effective strats.
huk vs mvp anyone ...oh look im a small amount ahead after my voidray harrass i should tech down every single tech path at the same time and while I expand...i mean how could he possibly punish me for that oh wait....

Z will evolve to better deal with bfh and 2 rax pressure and then T will look weak for one season and step up their game rinse repeat, games evolving so fast right now that making any statement about balance is premature imo. That said I think T's insane versatility resilience to cheese and strength scaling so well through out the game is the reason for their dominance at the top level of play. Not so much an issue with T but a problem with P and Z not being very well rounded.

I'm sure doomdash but I've asked few things not related with strategies and I haven't got an answer, so for especific questions I found that is more useful to ask them apart, and maybe this could help people to find them out when they got any doubt...
