2600k p8z68-v overclocking issue

Hey guys! I'm new to the whole over clocking thing, I ran into a problem when I tryed using the uefi Bios, I watched a YouTube video about how to use it, i got into the bios and clicked on the performance tab (there's three power saving, normal, and performance) I saved settings and exited, the computer restarted and worked normally for a day, while I was at work the next day my father turned on the computer and it said "over clocking failed"

When I got home it started up normal, so I set it back to normal, and it's working 100% fine now, but im just curious does anyone know why it failed? Bad mobo? Or just doesnt work the first time all the time?

TBH. I'm always skeptical of BIOS presets.
Learn how to OC it yourself. Since you have SB, OC'ing is quite simple.
Give this a read.
