It's Monte Carlo or bust for Orange's latest affordable Android phone. The Orange Monte Carlo is announced today, powered by Gingerbread and packed with features.

The Monte Carlo is a ZTE Skate painted Orange. Not actually painted orange, but you see what we mean. It sports a 4.3-inch capacitative touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, and 800MHz processor. It packs 3G and Wi-Fi web connection, FM radio, and DLNA to connect to televisions.
Sauce

It's now in stores with official web release in about a week. They are out there but pretty difficult to find.

Pretty confident for these as the successor to the ZTE Blade (Orange San Francisco), which is/was deemed as one of the best price : performance android phones by many. I've been waiting around for a suitable android phone, I think I'll be making the jump with this one!

I sold my Old Orange San Francisco a week ago and moved to a Sony Xperia X10.

I did plan on getting this Monte Carlo but the only real improvments are the screen size and the camera which are not worth the price over the San Francisco. And using the same CPU as the San Francisco but running 200Mhz faster is a bad mistake.

It needed a 1Ghz CPU with full flash support and an adreno 205 GPU to make a worth while upgrade.

This phone could of had so much potentional.

Yeah, other than lack of flash the support is amazing on these budget phones Orange have been putting out. And with YouTube supporting streaming of the WebM format now, you don't even need flash to watch alot of YT videos.
