New system for Photo/video editing with I7 2600k?

Hello all!

I am new to the forum and i like the community already! I have decided to build myself a newsystem as i moved partially away from gaming and more into photography and videos. I built an old system back in 2009 this time

AMD phenom II x4 940
Gigabyte ud4p
1tb Cavier black
2x Cavier green
XFX 4890
750w PSU

that was an budget gaming pc. Now its being used by my dad as a media pc.
the thing is once i go back home and take the pc with me, my dad will need a new htpc, and i saw some of the builds, it generally cost about 500-700 dollars for a new htpc. So i am thinking just upgrading to i7 2600k with a new mobo and get the parts from my old pc to assemble a new one, its prolly around the same cost.

Another reason is i plan for advance in photography in the future and i use my current macbook 2008 to do photo and its exceedingly slow for the smallest tasks..

so here is the new build i am thinking.

i7 2600k $310
ASUS Sabertooth P67, Intel P67( is this a good choice? or is there better ones out there?) $210
RAM ?? ( i am not sure which one to get frankly)
Case $80

Hd(from old system)
750 PSU( ill get a quieter 500w for the other one)
XFX 4890( from the old system)

total cost: ~ $700

how does this look?

Get a P8-P67 Pro, will be a bit cheaper.

For RAM just get HyperX 1600MHz CL9

Annnd that looks good!
