Greeting everyone . Currently I'm using Megahalems with Scythe GT AP-15 push-pull , with MX4 from arctic . Thinking about upgrading to NH-D14 . How much improvement may I get if I upgrade to this cooler ? Seems got many good review about it . Thanx

From reading several reviews (HardOCP, Pureoverclock, Tweaktown, Bjord3d...etc), I expect the NH-D14 will improve thermally by about 2-3C load temp and acoustically by a healthy gain.

So, if you are not happy with the noise level now with the Megahalems, I think it is worth to switch.

However, if you are happy with the acoustic now and are only unhappy about the temperature, I do not think the 2-3C improvement will be worthy enough, IMHO.

^ this.

the D14 is nice and quiet & 2-3c cooler but if I were you I'd stick with the megahalems. That is already a really good air cooler and there is only so much thermal performance you can achieve from air coolers. So it's most likely not worth the 80 or 90 dollars you'd drop on it.

I agree as well. If you're looking for anything better than what you already have (Megahalems), the only significant step up is watercooling. And not those sealed watercoolers like corsair h80/h100.

Well....I guess I just stick to my megahalems then. Thanx everyone. Watercooling is really out of my league.....not because of budget , but not really dare to try......scared of things like leakage etc..

Give it a few a little while, I suspect that self contained kits like the H100 are going to become more popular and offer much better performance than they do now.

I'm happy as hell the Megahalem setup I'm using. It keeps my max Prime 95 temps under 70C. What kind of temps are you seeing that would make you consider side-grading?

If you can get a used one it is well worth the upgrade. Check the market place here in the forums. I remember seeing one for sale in the cooling products section.

This way you get it cheap, and can sell your megahalems to gain some of your investment back.
