ZOTAC GTX 480 or EVGA GTX 480 - Brand Question

Thread Starter
I have been doing lots of research lately on the GTX 480 card model, and I have come to the conclusion that I want a GTX 480 card.

My issue is the "brand" and whether I should go with "Zotac" or "EVGA".

Here is the comparison side by side:
http://tinyurl.com/zotacorevga

I know spec wise they seem to be the same (except Zotac one is a little larger), but what concerns me is the "brand" of the card and also its warranty.

The "Zotac" one comes with "Lifetime Warranty" and the "Evga" only has a 90 day warranty (if I go with this one I will be buying at least a one year warranty)

Zotac is "not re-certified" unlike the Evga one.

What I am looking to get out of this thread is an opinion on the brand I should purchase.

A new EVGA will be 10 year uk or Lifetime USA Which is why I bought the card, A 2nd hand 90day would put me right off.

Id pic the Zotac

Zotac is a good brand not as Big and respected as Evga ect but I have Zotac and they are fine.

They are they same, go for the cheaper one, or the Zotac since it has warranty.

Of course the Zotac card. Zotac card have life time warranty unlike the EVGA which only have 90 days.
Keep yourself away from recertified cards from newegg. If you go and read some customer reviews you will find out they die after 90 days, showing artifacts from day 1, most of them are bad clockers or have a hefty stock voltage... etc.
Plus only $15 between the two. Pick the one with the life time warranty.

Agreed, however it is recertified and adding an extended 2 year warranty is almost an extra $50.

Thanks for your input on the brand!

Good point, thank you.

The only difference aparently is:
Zotac has OpenGL 4.0 / EVGA has OpenGL 3.2
Card Dimensions in Zotac are Height: 4.38" Width: 10.5" in EVGA 4.376" H x 10.5" L

Friends suggestions. I haven't done any research on the brand itself.

evga doesnt just get x2 better performance just because its evga.. zotac make quality products too. zotac may not be mod safe. but for me it really is a no brainer.

I'm going to have to go with EVGA, Since I have owned two of their cards before and they do provide good support.

That, and It doesn't use a Non-ref cooler so I'm sure you can find a Waterblock much easier.
