OCZ Firmware 2.11 - Update or not to update?

I've got an OCZ Agility 3 SSD coming today and I was wondering if I should update the firmware to 2.11 or not? Of course I would do it before installing Windows 7 on it.

I've heard that firmware 2.11 is unstable for some while 2.09 is stable for all. So should I install 2.11? Is it possible to install 2.09 as it is not the latest firmware and as I understand the firmware update with OCZ is automated to download and install the latest firmware.

OCZ firmware update will install 2.11 which I have read has multiple issues with instability and killing the SSD's. I'd stick to what it comes with and hope it doesn't come with 2.11.

Mine came with 2.06 and it auto updated to 2.11. I have no issues with 2.11, but would get random BSOD with 2.06.

I just bought mine less than a month ago.

Well the problem is that I need to decide before installing the OS as afterwards it would be a real pain in the butt to update firmware. If I choose not to install 2.11 I will run the risk of unstable firmware that comes with the drive. If I install 2.11 and turns out its not working I screwed again.

I gotta say, not a good start with OCZ and first impressions matter a lot.

I will check what firmware it comes with and report back.

I installed the firmware after I installed the OS. If you use the USB method which I found in the OCZ forums it will not effect the data on the disk. I didn't have to reinstall the OS.

Edit: You can also burn it to a disk and do it that way.
