Ips gaming monitor with no AG? - Page 3

the ag coating of CRT is a different story.
the "ONLY ONE" disadvantage of glare is reflections, but if your room is dark or have never windows u can use glaremonitor without issues and u will be very lucky.

While the only advantages of matt is only the zero reflections condition.

One of my screens is glossy. Even when my room is completely dark aside from the light the screen produces, it shows a reflection of whatever is in front of it, usually my shoulder and arm. Even without a light from a window, it reflects.

Samsung not produce IPS monitors and HP IPS is all matte.
FWIW, I have the ML239H, and I am very happy with it. The AG coating isn't noticeable at all, but still keeps the glare off when the sun shines into my room in the evening.

I'm not sure if it is backlight bleed, or IPS glow, but I do have a slightly purplish tint on the bottom 2 corners on black or very dark screens. It isn't noticeable at all on light games (CoD, BF:BC2), but there are places on Metro and Amnesia where I noticed it while reclining in my chair. When you are looking straight on, you can barely see it, even on a solid black screen. (you can only notice the glow if you are viewing it at an angle that would mess up the colors of a TN)

Response time is amazing. I notice no difference between this and my old 2ms TN. It is very bright though...It hurts my eyes to check the weather when I first wake up using it.

Damn started a firestorm! Well Im lookin at the new Dell 2412. If I gotta go with AG ill try out a cheaper ips screen first. Just waiting on some kind of coupon I can use on it, not gonna pay full price!

yes this is backlight bleed and in your model is not light.
this is noticeable during film viewing, whit black bands or in some dark games, and the black is not deep.

your AG coating is the best in all IPS category.

Well, as I said, even on a solid black screen, if you are looking right at it, you can't see the bleed at all. I would agree with you on the blacks not being as deep as they could be, but they are still at least as deep as a TN.
