Newegg return/RMA

Thread Starter
So I think I'm gonna return my 570 for a refund. I love the card, but I think I'm gonna go with dual 6950 2GB's instead of two 570's.

- Newegg says RMA's have to be within 15 days, but returns are 30 days. which would it be in my situation? today is the 15th day so I'd have to submit it today.

- How long does it take to get the money back? I don't have a spare/backup card so I'd have to figure something out.

Any other info about Newegg returns/RMAs is welcome. Thanks.

Well your returning it so you have another 15 days to return it for a full refund. It usually only takes a few days for them to receive and depends on what type of shipping label they email you. When I returned my GPU it only took about 4 days to receive my money back. Newegg has great customer support.

If there's nothing wrong with the card you'd be returning it.

You're going to get hit with a restocking fee + return shipping most likely.
Give them a call and try to setup an exchange for the card(s) you want - if you're nice and the rep is cool they might wave the fee and/or provide you with shipping.

Would I still get more after restocking/shipping fees than if I were to sell the card on OCN/eBay?

Gonna try and live-chat Newegg and see if I can swap for a 6950.
nah,restocking fee is minimal.

You bought one or two 570's? how much difference in cost is the 6950's? You can probably presuade them to knock off any fees if you mention your going to spend more on a better video card purchase, from them.

I have 30 days, so another two weeks or so to make a decision. The guy said they'd waive the restocking fee if I buy an "expensive" card - hopefully the 6950 applies!

EDIT: I told the guy I was gonna order the 6950 a few days before returning the 570 so there'd be no downtime, and he gave me his direct e-mail to make sure everything goes smoothly. I'm impressed!

EDIT: Unfortunately since the 6950 is cheaper, they won't waive the fee.

Eek, 15% of $369.99 ends up being like $50. Didn't think it'd be that bad. Might have to just throw it on OCN marketplace or the bay.

Yeah, but I won't be able to afford a second 6950 until after the refund period ends, which probably leaves me SOL in terms of waiving the restocking fee. I plan on just using the refund money for the second 6950, but I can't get that until I return the 570, etc.

I doubt they'd refund the 570 restocking fee a couple weeks afterwards when I use the money for a second 6950 from them.
