Oh well. Isn't there a hack to get PhysX running on AMD cards though?

There is a huge market for these cards. When someone sees there machine failing trying too play internet games like runescape, they buy a $50.00 ish graphics card. They sell like hot cakes on ebay. They Also provide a dramatic improvement over onboard.

I think there is a huge difference between a gt430 and intel hd graphics.

I do agree with the apu out now it does make them obsolete, but not many people have apu's.

They're going to be phased out but production won't stop. You can still buy a GeForce FX 5200 today if you wanted to.

Would love to, but Share (Japanese P2P program) only runs on Windows and not WINE, and I can't try ReactOS since it lacks USB support (which I need for my wifi adapter).

If it's any consolation I'm using an incredibly slimmed down XP that doesn't even use 100MB of RAM at boot - and that's without a pagefile! (but not including the 16MB ramdisk for TEMP files)

Sure, if you send me the two cards for benchmarking.
Those two cards are over 6 years apart.

Why don't you go find some application performance benches comparing a 386SX to a 3.6ghz P4 Cedar Mill too?

That may be true, but with synthetic benchmarks you may as well just compare the specs, texture fillrate, pixel fillrate, etc, it'll be just as close to a real world comparison.

You would be surprised. My friend who has a i5 650 can run L4D2 pretty well using the on chip GPU. It's not exactly crystal smooth but it's very much playable. The GT 430 is likely faster than the GPU in the 650 but most likely not by much.
