EVGA GTX 570 Classified

Under Construction
Will finish later today or tmrw, going to get food then work. Be back with more Benchmarks, more info and opinions!

MSRP $359.99 (vanilla card from evga $349.99)

Newegg currently offers as of 8/8/11 $359.99 (MIR $10) and promo code $15 off, HARDOCPX8X3C (ends 8/9)

Custom PCB with 6 Phase VRM, all black = awesomness
Has the Reference vapor chamber cooler
012-P3-1578-AR_XL_6.jpg
And has a half slot for exhaust! but why!?
012-P3-1578-AR_MD_5.jpg

Possible reasoning why?!
If you are an extreme Overclocker then why would you bother buying a card because the upgraded cooler is an improvment over reference?
If you are into Extreme oc'ing then you probably are into watercooling also.
A more durable PCB and better VRM is more deirable than a better cooler if you plan on WC.
So the half slot vent and ref cooler are no longer an issue when you put it on water.

I personally would not want something like the Asus ENGTX 570 dcii, it takes up three friggan slots!!!! If you are going for an air cooled only build then a Asus ENGTX570 dcii or MSI gtx 570 twin frozr would be a good choice.

I have no other gtx 570s to compare it to but i can give you some benchmarks.

They should've come out with that design from the get go...

The image of the PCB in the OP looks like the HD 570 from EVGA, not the classified (the PCIe power connectors are on the back, not the side like the image below it). Wrong image or am I just taking crazy pills?

No, you are right. That is definitely a GTX 570 HD PCB.

Correct the picture of the PCB in OP is 100% the GTX570HD,which does actually have revised VRM as the capcitors are mounted on the different side to the Reference card and the chokes are a different design on the 570HD.
But.... unfortunately still only a 6 phase VRM leaving just 4 phases for the core and 2 for the mem frown.gif

The GTX570Classified has 8 power phase, its capacitors are mounted on the same side as the Reference cards and its chokes are the same type as Reference cards but there are an extra 2 power phases so the core now has 6 phase power and 2 phase for the mem.

You can tell the picture of the PCB posted is incorrect as the GTX570Classified has 6 pin and 8 pin power connectors, where as GTX570HD has 2 6pin power connectors and are also in different orientation/position.

These 3 pics ARE of the GTX570Classified

It appears to just use a GTX 580 PCB.. o.O

I would have liked EVGA to add some non-reference cooling :u

I was wondering also if they decided to save money and not use laser cut chips but only lock them in the bios.
Id buy more and flash to 580 and be very very happy smile.gif

Na man they are laser cut. They are just regular GTX 570 GPUs, nothing special about them.
