I got banned from the OCZ forum for speaking about their customer service

I own a Vertex 3 and ever since their first firmware update back in May, this drive as well as the Agility 3 and Solid 3 series drives have experienced constant BSODs rendering the drive unusable and even undetectable by the BIOS unless you do a cold reboot.

For weeks and months OCZ denied there was a problem a problem in the first place and shifted the blame entirely onto the customer by claiming we had poor Windows 7 installations, bad SATA cables, and that we shouldn't overclock.

Many of us were met with a condescending indifferent attitude by the staff as well as some of their beta testers. We were given an extremely time consuming and ever changing "Boeing 747 checklist" of procedures to follow on how to install and configure Windows which never worked for 99% of us and we were constantly given contradictory information on whether there was or wasn't a problem in the first place when the staff intimated that "the checklist worked for 1 person so I don't see where there's a problem".

We all payed a premium for this drive and we were met with indifference, arrogance, and condescending attitudes.

Our drives sat collecting dust for 2 months until they finally made a firmware that what seemed to fix the problem for a lot of people (mine included) when they released FW version 2.09. It slowed the drive down a little but it seemed to patch up the problem.

A month later I checked the forum for any updates and I found that their newest FW (version 2.11) is causing the same BSOD problems again, as seen here: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...-freezes-again and throughout the rest of the forum!

I was disgusted by this current states of events and I voiced my opinion about this here: http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...oblems-AGAIN-!

They cited "personalish attacks" and banned me from their forum. The staff there will use anything they can to shut you up and silence you. I will personally never buy anything else from OCZ again. I'm boycotting this company no matter how good their future products are, I just don't care. I've had enough of their piss poor insulting "customer service" and I'm sick of having a drive that I fear to update just because they can't release a proper working firmware.

Never will I buy anything from this shady company again! Consider me a former customer!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience but I myself have an OCZ Solid 3 drive that doesn't give me any sort of problems anymore what so ever, and I'm not even on 2.09 but either way it used to, I never contacted their support or anything but it just seems like they've never been able to figure out whats going wrong with their own drives and don't want to be embarrassed about it i guess... In either case I've owned 5 SSD's through OCZ and don't have a single regret in purchasing them what so ever

"New firmware = New problems??? AGAIN???!
I thought 2.09 fixed everything (it did for me but gave me a slightly slower drive). Now 2.11's causing problems for people? What is this crap, every other FW release causes lockups, freezes, stuttering, or BSOD's?

Do you ever plan on releasing a firmware that consistently works???? I won't be touching 2.11 and by the looks of things 2.12 and and 2.13 should be crap too. I already went a month and a half of hell with this drive and I don't plan on going through that crap again.

Good lord you guys are really dragging your users through hell."

you had the worse choice of words here, if your going to get angry at least be classy about it don't just out right flame them, you bought the drive, just remember that.

and 2nd one bad experience doesn't mean the product is crap, as I said in the other post my drive works perfectly fine as though the problem has fixed itself, i know it hasn't but seems like it due to no more problems what so ever with the drive.

Same here. No probs at all yet from 2.11.

As for purchasing again? IDK, but probably not. I'm not unhappy with what I have, but it sounds like it's a gamble with what you get.

Make me kind of glad I have no interest in buying OCZ SSDs and ever since getting DOA RAM from them years ago (and having to RMA it) I've had little to no interest in dealing with their company. To me this only solidifies my view on their product and support.

I agree with the above. Perhaps a little more tact would have given you a better avenue to express your frustrations with them. Don't go into someone else's house with your shoes on, so to speak...

Also going to post this

"All of you need to refresh yourself with the Forum Rules. It's a fact that product issues cause frustration, but that fact doesn't give anyone the right to be rude or disrespectful. Please read and respect our rules as well as each other. Thanks...."

couldn't have said it better myself... not to mention that complaining here about another forum isn't going to get you any sympathy points I'm afraid, so be respectful both here and there...

Their customer service was terrible from the beginning. They dragged us through hell for months by denying the situation completely and being condescending pricks from the get go. And then we find out that their newest firmware is causing these problems again???? How long until they release a working Firmware Update that doesn't wreck someone's drive? Some of those guys will be going at least 4+ months without a working drive. This company deserve a hell of a lot more than just "angry customers".
