They're all 2ms.

Pick your favourite. I'd take the Asus, it's the best brand of the three, granted the Alienware is just a flared up version of a similar Dell monitor, it's still more expensive.

Actually, that 2ms is the response time, not the input lag. I also wouldn't trust what a manufacturer states. I'd read some legit reviews.

The best 120Hz LCD gaming monitors listed out of the 3 is the AW2310 if you want a matte finish, or the Asus VG23HE is you don't mind glossy panels.

But the Planar SA2311W > AW2310 in price and performance. 2cents.gif

Edit: I lost sight of the topic. As far as input lag the BenQ is the lowest, but not by much. The input lag difference between all of the monitors listed in this topic so far are close enough to not really notice a difference. However, the BenQ suffers penalties in other areas when compared to other 120Hz monitors.

How does the BenQ suffer penalties?

Ghosting, crosstalk, and I've read that backlight bleed is hit or miss. It's probably not a whole lot worse than some of the other monitors. But even a little worse is still worse. Especially considering that the price is higher than most.

If you don't mind the money, can accept a slightly inferior product when it comes to imaging, and want the absolute lowest input lag... Then get it.

I have never used it. I can only quote reviews.

I have the benq, I was also aware of people complaining about the backlight bleeding. Thankfully I was one of the few that didn’t have that problem. I completely agree about benq costing way too much, but it was still cheaper then the asus because I pay tax at newegg.

I play games very competitively, I don’t care too about colors or looks. I care about pure performance like lowest input lag. Anyways the whole reason I put this thread in the first place is because I saw some article saying BenQ does in fact have input lag higher then most 120 Hz monitor. I was thinking about returning, but after reading other articles they are also agreing with you that BenQ does have the lowest input lag.

Yes, I read that BenQ has ~8ms input lag, which is the lowest for any 120Hz LCD. Planar has ~10ms. Acer GD235HZ was the worst at ~17ms.

I don't recall the rest, but they were in between the BenQ and the Acer.

Anything lower than ~12ms is not going to be noticeable (at least in my experience). Even 17ms is only about 1 frame.

Yeah I read that it was 8ms and I went crazy, so most 120 Hz monitor are over 8ms? Wow that so surprising. I thought it was suspose to be 0 though?

You're never going to get 0.0ms input lag as some processing is required.
