If that's the case, then you definitely want the EC2 and not the deathadder if you prefer to palm grip. You'll most likely be very happy with the EC2, it's a great mouse.

Keep in mind the two choices on the EC2 are not purely color - the White EC2 is all gloss, while the black one has a matte finish on top, but gloss on the sides. If that full gloss finish is a problem, go with the black one.

the DeathAdder with 1800 CPI is infinitely better. They even fixed the lift off distance in the latest firmware.

I'd agree 100%, if he didn't say he prefers to claw his mouse and has smaller hands. You could give someone the greatest mouse in the world, but if he can't grip it comfortably or control it well, it's wasted. The EC2 is a better fit here. wink.gif

I'd wish Zowie would use the Avago-3090 sensor.

It's a shame that only CM use it , and then even only with one of their products.

The puretrak valor also uses the 3090.

I don't. Its been an utter nightmare in terms of working firmware and isn't natively built to handle lower DPI settings. I unpacked my valor for two seconds and then boxed it back up.

Seriously doubt a company founded by two CS 1.6 Pros is every going to release a mouse that cant do a low dpi setting ~ 400-500 DPI well.

@OP, you asking about two very different mice in the sense that the DA 1800 is going to be better for the larger hand/more palm oriented grip imo (although some people do try to claw it and have success, i found it VERY awkward). EC2 on the otherhand is perfect for smaller/average sized hands and claw or hybrid style grip. EC2 would be my choice. Ignore the nonsense about people who think they can't use a mouse with prediction, it doesnt prevent you from doing anything you wouldnt be able to do with a 20 dollar microsoft mouse.

I'm not a big guy, and I claw grip the deathadder just fine. It's a good, comfortable mouse.
