A 560 Ti can match or exceed stock 570 performance at ~1GHz, so at 1.1GHz you'll be far beyond even that, and quite possibly a good 30-40% faster than your OC'd 460 based on your current clocks.

MSI warranties on video cards are 3 years btw, though they are serial based and fully transferable.

All that said, I'd recommend waiting out a good 460 sale and grabbing a 2nd for SLI instead of going for a single card upgrade. Easily the most cost effective upgrade path.

Your monitor is 1080p so 1GB of memory shouldn't be a bottleneck for you, and 460 SLI trades blows with a 580 at stock clocks. If you can get a 2nd card to match your current clocks you'll be set for years at that res.

Thanks for the info. For me to SLI 460's, does the card have to be exactly the same one, or can it be one of the same series with similar specs (say a regular, not OC'ed edition)?

They just have to be the same kind of card. The 1gb won't SLI with the 768 or the SE, for instance.

Ah okay, thanks. They will both run at the speeds of the lowest card, right? You think 2x GTX460 1GB running @780-800 core will rival a stock GTX580?

460's in SLI should beat a stock 580 easily.

Sweet. This is good news I think I'm going to look for an MSI card w/ the fans on it and use that as the top card, since I've read the top card in SLI tends to run a little hotter than the bottom.

Thanks a bunch for the info.

GTX 560Ti are pretty beastly. I hear them compared to an HD 5870 all the time, and I went from a GTX 460 to a HD 5870 and the difference was huge! I say go GTX 560Ti. Although obviously SLI GTX 460 would be very powerful.

The only thing that might limit you is vram. 1gig is seeming like less and less these days. My 1280mb is starting to become an issue.

Im very sure you can SLI cards with different mem sizes, its just that in the case you stated 1gb/768mb you would end up with the usable amount of Vram equal to the smallest of the 2 cards,768mb in that case.

EDIT:

just remembered you cant due to the mem bandwidth difference, sorry

The 1gb won't sli with the 768. They're too different. The 768 has less memory bandwith and fewer ROP's.
