ATITool Kernel Error

Thread Starter
Every time I start ATITool I get a message saying that "The kernel mode driver does not appear to be running". I tried reinstalling the program with the same result. I read somewhere that it's because ATITool doesn't work on Vista or 7? Also worth mentioning is that the program starts fine but it will only let me scan for artifacts (the only thing I really want it for), but I'm not sure if that even works without the driver.

Can I still use ATITool to scan for artifacts or are there any other tools for scanning artifacts besides just staring at the screen and trying to spot them?

I still use it. I actually don't have it installed on my system, I copied the installation files over from a previous install.
I get a system driver not installed error though, but that's not necessary to scan for artifacts as far as I know.

Yeah I guess more people are using OCCT now? I don't think it scans for artifacts but I bet it displays and error if there are any.

Either way, it's supposed to be a better alternative so I'm using that now (even though I had to lower the core clock because although furmark didn't complain, apparently OCCT did).

I haven't heard of OCCT.
I use ATItool and Heaven DX11 Benchmark to stress & test my video cards.
