  1. Is the H100 worth $120?
  2. If not what is the best cooler for my CPU? (see sig)
  3. I have about 100 dollars and I was thinking about getting a silver arrow, is this my best choice?
  4. What cooler (air or water) gives the lowest temps?

Temps

Ambeint: 28c
Idle: 31c
Running SC2: 50c
Full Load: 60c

AIR -
noctua u14 but memory could be in the way sooo..

h100 - the 240 (double 120) will go in the roof of that lian-li very nicely.

WATER - More money - Lower temps (as low as amb)

In you case so maybe could so 32-8 on water idle

Whats the budget and are you after a custom loop.

Budget is max $120, and I don't have a huge interest in custom loop because I will be upgrading my motherboard and graphics card in 2 months.

I think I would go for h100 in your case.

I like the noctua more but, on the rip-jaws I wouldn't like to say it will fit, I have seen it fit though.

The RS240 RASA kit is only ~130 USD. So if you change your mind about going custom, it'll lead to better performance than the h100 + the possibility to upgrade in the future.

This. The RS240 or any RASA kit for that matter will fit, even if you get a new motherboard. Especially since it sounds like you are only going for cooling your CPU. CPU blocks fit specific CPU's not specific Mobo's. Even if you were to switch your CPU to say Intel or something, the kit comes with all the mounts necessary.

Okay but is setting up a loop like that hard? Do I run a risk of leaking? And does it give better results for a CPU temp? I'm looking for something that will keep my CPU cool as possible when OCing.

It really isn't as HARD as it sounds. Its actually extremely simple, leaks are pretty unlikely and even if one does occur it's not as terrible as it sounds. Usually it will just be a drop of water and as long as you have some towels down while leak testing nothing will be damaged.

If you are looking to get the best temperatures (especially during OC) then a custom loop would be the way to go. XSPC basically falls into that category. You will get better temperatures then a H100, and they cost the same.

I would be more than happy to help you through the process of setting it all up if you need that help that is. But it's truly as simple as cutting a few hoses and sticking them on barbs or compression fittings and 99.9% of the time you are good to go.

In the long run its extremely worth it, especially if you like to overclock. Took me about an hour to set everything up.

The RASA kits make the whole thing much simpler because they include everything in the kit, w/ instructions and so forth. There are chances of leaking but if you pay close attention and don't rush, you should have no issues. Definitely get some different tubing, the stock tubing that comes with the RASA kit has a plasticizer coating that is not well-applied and will cloud up pretty quickly. I recommend this. It'll be nice and snug over the barbs included with the RASA kit.

I have heard that the RS240 kit cools about 5-15oC cooler than the best air coolers. The h100 should be slightly better than the best air coolers but it'll most likely be out of its class when compared to the RASA kit. And my friend, the RS240 wins the future-proofness award as well. The h100 is a dead-end. The RS240? A door to many possibilities.

Will it only cool my CPU?
