Just looked through past emails from PSN. Its the same email address + playstation.ca seems to be a legit site. I think it may actually be sony.

You can get a load of annoying emails. I entered my email on something similar to this a few years ago and 2 days later I had 4000+ emails trying to sell me thing.

Why would they spoof the email to link to a legitimate playstation site though?

Well it's still an unconfirmed scam, but they probably did that so it looks legit. You'd be amazed at how convincing some scam/phishing emails look these days.

If interested, please submit your email address by 03/10/2011 at 11:59:59 PM CST at:
http://www.playstation.ca/identity-theft-protection/. Please note, you must enter the same email address used to register your Playstation Network or Qriocity account. Once your email address is validated you will be sent your Global ID Protector activation code.
What I find interesting is that it says to submit your email by 03/10/2011. Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't that date passed?
