Elder Scrolls Oblivion worth checking out for PC?

Thread Starter
I played it at a friends house 4 years ago on the Xbox and I remember I enjoyed it, I just never got around to buying it.

Now it's only $20 so I could get it on PC or I could even get it on the Xbox.

Around how much play time could I expect to beat the game? Also, how exactly do you beat the game? Do you just finish the main quest?

Oblivion + graphic mods looks Gorgeous! Definitely worth it.

well how you beat the game really depends on your definition of beating the game. If you merely want to finish the main story line that could probably be done in maybe like 20 hours? im not entirely sure because oblivion is really more about all the other side quests and story lines and ive never played just a straight run through of the main questline. If you wanted to complete all quests id estimate that youre looking at 100+ hours, many people have played for much more than that. the game is definitely worth the money, one of my favorites of all time. Id say go for it.

Yes, it's definitely worth it. The game has great replay value, and there's tons of mods that add hours of gameplay. It's easily one of my more played games.

I must have put over 70 hrs into it off and on, and still found it rewarding.

Its mroe worth if for PC, all the overhaull mods and graphics mods etc. Id recommend playing at least the main questline without any gameplay changes tho

And yes you "beat" it by finishing the main quest line, but depending on how you look at it the game isnt over even then, alot of sidequests to do and areas to look around etc.

Heres some pics with Qarls texture pack and some lighting mods, not very heavy compared to some but its really nice IMO.

If you play through all the side quests, 10s of hours of gameplay before completion. I personally got lost in side quests and never finished the main quest.

Definitely worth it. There is a new Elder Scrolls game coming out in Nov. Looks amazing.

You can put in ~100 hours and still have stuff left to do. As mentioned before though the main story takes about 20/30 hours. There's loads of replayability to it and PC is easily the best platform for this game.

You just missed out on the GOTY edition deal on Steam You can pick up a retail copy for around £10/£15 here though.

I'd play it vanilla first (without mods) or if you'd really like to mod it then stick to graphical mods and then throw on some epic game changing mods after you've gotten yourself accustomed to it.

To be honest, you can FLY threw the main story line, 2-3 days if your consistent and know where to go, what to grab and just go around closing gate after gate.

But if you actually want to enjoy the game and actually understand it then do EVERYTHING, and you will find that the game is much, much for enjoyable and the DLC just gives it more and more replay value.

Just have to agree at least 100+ hours if not more if you include all the DLC and such.

Amazing game, worth every penny

I've got about 150 hours invested into that game, it's definitely worth it's price tag, especially if you get into the modding. You'll feel like alice in wonderland.
