[Vortez] ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Review - Page 4

Mine should be here on Wednesday. My previous build used an ASRock board and it was pretty great. Glad they FINALLY ditched the lame colors though, seriously....

Nice, if I end up going IB instead of BD, this will be the board unless a better one comes out before.

I want Gbyte, but the lack of full UEFI really kills it for me.

This board tramples all over anything gigabyte currently offers. Every new generation is a fresh start for motherboard makers and Asrock have won this round. People need to become unstuck from the P45 UD3P mindset.

In this generation of just multiplier OCing, makers have to compete purely on features, everything else will be within error margin, Gigabyte loses out on features for me simply because of the lack of UEFI. (I want to ditch the legacy crap considering UEFI works just fine)

All I really want is the ability to get to whatever speed (Probably above 4.5Ghz hopefully), 2 PCIe 16x slots, 2 PCIe 1x slots (Sound card and Wifi card) and a USB3 header, Gigabyte provides those at least.

Ever check out the ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution?

It has two true x16 slots with 3 slots of spacing between PCI-e slots and has plenty of slots for your sound card and wifi card.

You don't need a x1 slot to use a sound card or wifi card. It works in a x8/16 slot just fine.
