Best GPU for a E6750

Hi, there!

This is my pc:

NOX COOLBAY 25 BLACK
INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6750 (2.67GHZ) SKT 775
ASUS P5K-E WIFI
WESTERN DIGITAL 500GB SATA II 16MB
WESTERN DIGITAL 640GB SATA II 16MB
ASUS DVD+/-R 18X DRW-1814BLT PRETO RETAIL (SATA)
LC-POWER HYPERION V.2.2 700W (LC8700)
GSKILL KIT 2GB DDR2 800 HK
NOISEBLOCKER X2 80MM BLACKSILENT RETAIL (X2)
ZALMAN 9500 LED

My old 8800 GTS died few days ago and I bought a HD 6870. However, I was disappointed by the performance... of my cpu.
At F1 2010 benchmark, with all maxed out, the GPU was at a max 45 % activity... My CPU is bottlenecking it.

I have de possibility of switching my GPU back for another graphics card plus money.

What is, in you opinion, the right card for my system? Even with a future OC at the CPU.

Best regards!

CUDA has nothing to do with gaming. PhysX does, but only in a few games.

If you overclock your E6750 to 3.6Ghz or higher, I promise you that your purchase will pay off.

I would go ahead and invest in a high-end air-cooler, such as the TRUE or the DH-14.

If you can get a high enough clock out of your CPU then yes, it should. Although you MAY still have a slight or potential bottleneck but it won't be as bad.

And CUDA will not help at all, that's just a feature of the card. Your problem lies with your CPU, overclock it or upgrade and you will completely satisfied with your setup

Well... but I'll won't upgrade my cpu, because it means a new CPU, new mobo, new RAMS... We're talking a few hundred (300-500€) euros, here in Portugal!

I know my problem is the CPU.

I know that a 6870 is better 550 Ti.

But will I feel the difference between them? At 1280 x 1024? With my system?

I'm pressing for an answer because I can swap back my 6870 for another card 'till next friday...

You can still upgrade to a QXXXX quad LGA755 processor. You may be able to find a Q6600 for cheap somewhere in your country. I'd reccomend trying your luck with a new cooler and overclocking your processor first to see if you can squeeze more performance for less than 30$.
