Do you think that perhaps all you D3 nay-sayers are just stuck in the D1/D2 nostalgia? Try playing the game(s) again and see if you have the same feelings.
It's a double edged sword though, and while on the one hand they've tons of fans hooked on nostalgia, they've taken the art style in a very different direction, which a lot of fans don't agree with.
To me it just doesn't look as dark (and I don't mean the lighting levels) and sinister as Diablo1&2, and maybe that's not the art direction the new Diablo team wants it to go, but the dark eeriness was part of the charm in the original.
That being said, you can't really judge and compare a game that isn't out yet.
Just for me, personally, between the new art style, lackluster class videos and auction house addition on top of a very long wait, I'm not all that psyched anymore.
