They're decent. Johnny Guru rates their gx 750 a 7/10

You could do better, but then again you could do worse also.

I couldn't afford the corsair so I went with a coolermaster GX650,
it had 4 out of 5 eggs on newegg and I didn't bother reading the reviews but later went back and found that a few people got this PSU and it was DOA, so I'm kind of worried

The GX series are crap. If it's still time to cancel your order, you should.
What system will this PSU go in?

well I don't want to cancel the entire order, perhaps modify it,
its a phenom II x6 w/ GTX 560, could I just call newegg customer service and swap it out?

I don't see why not, just call them up ASAP.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371048 is cheaper and much, much higher quality. Would easily support a 2nd GTX 560 later on if you wanted.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817207012 would also power your system easily for even less.

Nah, once you place an order with the egg, your pretty much stuck with it. The only thing you could do would be to refuse the order when it shows up at your step, but then your $$ would be tied up until newegg gets the shipment back.

Also, if you want to return it after your package arrives, be prepaired to pay shipping and a 15% restockong fee.

I dont know if I would call it 'crap'. It's definately not a top-tier psu, but it's far from bargain basement.

Thay're actually the exact same price after rebate, but it's a moot-point as he has already placed his order. I think the gx 650 will power his system just fine. and if it happens to fail, it's got a 3 year warranty and CM has good if not great customer support in my personal experience.

Sorry, I call them crap. There's worse out there, but just because some turds smell worse than others doesn't make the latter any less crap
The reviews speak for themselves. They're bare-bones units with low quality components that don't work safely beyond 450W even though they can deliver more wattage. They're prone to failure (which is a factor of their low quality) and really they have no redeeming qualities, even for the price.

I figured it would be a huge pain to change the order, shipping it back+restocking fees i could have bought a corsair 750w lol
