Problem/Question with new Build (Asrock p67 extreme4)

Thread Starter
I've finished assembling my new build:

i7 2600k
gigabyte 6950 1GB OC
Asrock p67 extreme4
WD caviar black 750GB
G.Skill ripjaws X 4 GB (2x2) 1600
CM GX 650w PSU

I've used everything there except the CPU, MB, and RAM in a previous build.

My problem is that everything will turn on but nothing comes onto my monitor at all. The Dr. Debug says error 38 on my mobo.

This is "Post-Memory North Bridge initialization (North Bridge module specific)"

If anyone could help me out with what I'm doing wrong I'd greatly appreciate it.

I found another thread with a user experiencing the exact same problems as you:

It looks like it was due to a bent pin problem. I know it's a hassle, but try taking out your CPU to see if any of the pins were bent. Also, be sure to put your RAM in slots "1 and 3" or "2 and 4".

Let us know if this doesn't help.

Hi tallshortguy
I've actually the exactly the same problem. In a german forum a read something about a bended pin in the cpu socket.
The guy there made a macro picture with his digicam and found a pin which was bended and made a short to another
pin in the cpu socket.
Did you find a solution in the mean time? If so I would be very happy to know how you fixed the problem.
Thx.
