Yes that is my point. The limit of dual link DVI ends somewhere near 1920x1080 @ 120hz or 2560x1600 @ 60hz. You can't do 2560x1600 @ 120hz without DP

Panel type has nothing to do with it

i figured as much, i just wonder why no one has attempted to make a 1080p 120hz IPS then

They have made plenty of those, they are just all interpolated 120hz that only allow 60hz input, much like 120hz TVs.

THAT much worse than an IPS? Everyone on here talks as though a monitor like that would have absolutely horrific color.

Much worse colors than an IPS? Yes. Horrific color? Certainly not. I think most people wouldn't care enough to spend the extra $ on an IPS and would be plenty happy with a high end TN panel. After calibration my AW2310 looks good enough that I would use it as my media display if I had to (not before). It's still overpriced without Dell's regular sales though. People love to exaggerate so take everything with a grain of salt.

De-Zant, why aren't you a mod yet? You are in this section more than anyone else. IIRC you've had an OCN browser window open for months.

Because I rarely shut down my PC and the browser stays up the whole time, so naturally my forum windows stay open as well.

If I were offered a moderator position, I'd decline it, since that job would not fill what I want from a forum experience. I don't want to be the guy that sorts through all t he trash on a forum and hands out appropriate warnings/punishments and time to time gets asked about issues that consern the site rules that are in the gray area. I do not want that job. It is not for me. I've seen many active contributors get tired of a forum after modhood too. So.. just doesn't appeal to me.

I'm fine with simply being here and helping the peopels.

@gamerface: The current models are expensive, despite of not being true 120h. I will assume however, that the first 120hz IPS that is real 120hz won't be ridiculously expensive, just a bit expensive. And it will most likely be 1080p too, as most things these days are.

No, actually. That's one of the best 120hz monitors out there. If not the best. Haven't read much about it though.

Now if only I could just find it without the glasses. I don't care much about 3d
