Leaving PC gaming soon, what console should I buy? - Page 3

I would choose a PS3 for it's exclusive games.

I feel like the XBOX 360 is all about shooters, but shooters belong in a computer, with a mouse, a keyboard and a mousepad!
The PS3 looks cooler to me, because it has more adventure games like God of War.
Also, it has squaresoft on the RPG side.

That's the reason why most of my friends own a PS3 and not a xbox 360.

But if I have another advice, I would tell you to poll up with your friends network (maybe post something on facebook): who has a 360 and who has a PS3? If the exclusives doesn't matter to you, choose by your friends!

controller feel is just a matter of preference/habit.

The PS3 also gives you a blueray player.

I had a PS2 because it was also a DVD player (the only one I owned back then), otherwise I would've gone nintendo on that generation.

Neither is "crap". If you can afford the $50 a year for online, get the Xbox. If you don't want to pay it and will take slightly worse online experience, get the PS3. If you need a blu-ray, get the ps3. The player is decent.

Ask what your friends have. I prefer the xbox and most my friends have an xbox, so if I played my console online, it would definitely be the Xbox

Nintendo DS?

I would pick PS3 because of the blu-ray player. But consoles seem to be a money sink so that's why I don't get them. I think I'll stick with $5-10 digital game downloads of some of the best games instead of paying $20+ even for old titles.

I second this.

PC Gaming is far more beneficial. That, and you don't have to listen to those ten year old kids and those immature 20 year olds that whine about how many women he's 'done it with'.

What is the best console to buy at the moment? I've already ruled out the Wii, but the PS3 and the Xbox 360 seem to each have their pros and cons.

Are there any other consoles coming out soon that I should be checking out?
If you plan on playing online for a good majority of games, then the XBOX is the way to go. I own both the PS3 and 360. XBOX Live is much more stable, the marketplace is more refined, more user friendly interface and it offers more features.

Xbox 360 + XIM 3 [mouse and keyboard emulator]
Nothing better than being called a hacker on a daily basis.

Call me crazy, but when I grow bored of BF3 I'll be doing the same.

PC Gaming becoming too expensive?

I vote for the PS3 personally. Free online, almost the same games as the 360 [obviously except some exclusives], blu-ray player.

Advice don't loose the pc for console gaming. Have a wii, ps3 and 360....... All don't compare to pc. But... If I had to I would stick to ps3.

The 360 is the tournament standard for many fighting games. If you're into high level competitive fighting games such as Super Street Fighter IV then it's a no brainer.

On the other hand If you're switching to console to play call of duty multiplayer against kids with a controller then I have nothing positive to add.
